From family values to powerful career moves, Jacqueline's journey is proof that growth begins when we choose courage over comfort.
1. One person who inspires me the most in my personal life.
There are many people in the world of sports, politics, and business whom I look up to, but for inspiration, my own family tops the list. I would have to choose two—my mum and dad. They both left their tight-knit communities and loving families at a very young age to join the armed forces. At the time, people from their communities rarely moved away, but they knew they wanted a different life and believed this was the best way to achieve it. Their bravery, sacrifices, and determination inspire me, especially during tough times or when facing difficult choices. Now, as a mother myself, their example also guides me in raising my son.
2. An experience that helped me ‘Accelerate Action.’
Early in my career, following a change in personal circumstances, I made the decision to leave the government/public sector and move into the private sector when an opportunity arose. It was a risky move, but I realized I wanted more from my career—more experience, the opportunity to travel, and greater financial independence as a woman. Taking that leap enabled me to make better decisions in other areas of my life as well, ultimately leading to positive changes on a personal level.
3. My message to women at HGS.
