Every challenge Carrie faced helped shape the strength she leads with today. Her journey is a powerful reminder that being true to yourself is the key to success in anything you pursue.

1. One person who inspires me the most in my personal life.

I can’t pick just one; it has to be two! My daughters, Ella and Sophia. They inspire me to be the best version of myself—to provide them with a meaningful, happy, and comfortable life so they can reach their full potential. They also remind me every day, in small ways, that I influence their thoughts, feelings, and aspirations. I want to show them that being a little girl with dreams and ambitions is a wonderful thing, and that if you work hard, show respect, embrace vulnerability, and have passion—anything is possible.

2. An experience that helped me ‘Accelerate Action'.

Nearly 14 years ago, I had a great life and job at a company I had been with for 12 years—a company I adored. But I realized I was sacrificing some of my personal goals to feel 'safe' at work. Then, I was offered a job in Cape Town, South Africa. My mind immediately listed all the reasons not to do it, but in a single moment of bravery, I said yes. I packed up my life and moved to the other side of the world. If I hadn't taken that leap and accelerated my actions, I wouldn't be where I am today. My time living and working there brought some of the most significant moments of my life—both in happiness and in hardship—but it undoubtedly shaped the person I am today at one of the great companies to work for.

3. My message to women at HGS

Don’t be afraid to go after what you want. Don’t let anyone take away your confidence. And don’t let anyone tell you that you can only be one version of yourself. I am a wife, a mother, an aunt, a friend, and a Chief Operating Officer—I can be all of those things. Some days, I’m better at some roles than others, and that’s okay. Don’t be hard on yourself—just keep trying your best.
