Q: I've submitted my application, now what?

Q: When can I start?
A: The application and hiring process takes approximately 5 days to complete.
We conduct an initial telephone interview using the same technology you will be using asan HGS Work@Home team member.
We provide a series of assessments for you to complete from the comfort of your own home.
We do require a completed criminal background check as a condition of employment.
Q: Where will I have to go to sign off on my employment offer and any other necessary forms?
A: Nowhere! We use a secured program (DocuSign) that allows us to electronically issue your contract and other corresponding documents. You will have the opportunity to review, save, and agree virtually on your offer.

Internet Service Requirements:
High-speed internet – Within close proximity to your workspace, the internet will need to be hard-wired to the computer HGS has provided, you cannot use a router. Wireless is not supported by our technology platform
Satellite or Point to Point Internet connections cannot be utilized for this program
Your internet speed will be tested during the interview stage to ensure the upload and download speed are able to support the work you will be doing. Your local internet service provider may be able to enhance your service if the initial test falls below requirements.

Q: Will I be reimbursed for my internet and telephone costs?
A: You are responsible for internet and telephone costs. We encourage you to seek professional tax advice to fully understand your situation.
Q: Will I be able to use my current laptop for the position?
A: We supply a computer at no cost to you.
Q: If I wanted to Bring My Own Device (BYOD), what equipment will I need to supply?
PC or laptop is required with the following minimum standards
Network port
3 available USB ports
4GB RAM, dual-core processor (2 or more cores), 1.5 GHz
2 screens
One can be a laptop screen if using a laptop
The other must be 1024x748 resolution, minimum 20”
If not using a laptop the both screens must be 1024x748 resolution, minimum 20”
Keyboard/Mouse
Webcam
If using a laptop the built in webcam will suffice
If not using a laptop, the external webcam must be a minimum of 720p
Q: What equipment will HGS supply if I utilize BYOD?
A: HGS will supply:
Headset
Duo Token for login codes
Secure login dongle
Q: If I don’t want to use my own device, does HGS provide the equipment?
A: Yes, HGS will provide all required equipment at no charge to you. It will be shipped to your home.
Q: If I want to take advantage of BYOD, does HGS have any partnerships with a vendor who can offer equipment if I need to purchase?
A: Yes, we are pleased to inform you that HGS’s Employee Purchase Program is now available through Staples. This program enables you to purchase any equipment or other items you require through www.eway.ca. You will receive login instructions to set up your account with Staples. No need to go to a Staples store, all equipment will be shipped to you by Staples.
Q: If I am using my own equipment, can anyone else in my household, use the equipment for personal use?
A: During your working hours, the equipment will NOT be available to others in the household. When you are not working then YES, others in the household will be able to use the equipment.
Q: Do I get any benefits/incentives in using my own Device?
A: Using your own equipment offers many advantages to you:
Familiarity with your computer, you are comfortable and familiar with your equipment
You know the equipment works so downtime due to equipment defects will be mitigated
No need to find additional work areas in your home, the location of your personal computer will be your work area (There are compliance requirements for your work area that will be reviewed with you by a member of our recruiting team)
Start right away, no need to await shipments of equipment
Q: Will someone help me set up my equipment?
A: Included in the equipment shipment sent to you will be detailed instructions on how to assemble. We will also, prior to you beginning your HGS career, provide a virtual session with you to ensure your equipment is set up properly.
Q: You're going to send me a webcam? Will I be able to see customers while I'm talking to them?
A: No, the webcam will be used for internal training, support, coaching, and team meetings. To promote our supportive culture, a webcam is an excellent way to keep in touch.
Q: Where will I complete my training before I actually start working from home?
A: You will complete your training from the comfort of your own home! You will be in a virtual class with your new team members with a designated trainer assisting in providing the knowledge and material required to ensure your success.
Q: What kind of calls can I expect to be taking?
A: Customers may require your assistance with basic account updates, technical support, or a general inquiry.
Q: What kind of support will I have should I run into any issues or require assistance?
A: You will always have team support readily available through secured chat, telephone, or email.
Q: What does scheduling look like?
A: All scheduling is based on client requirements.
Q: I know a few people who may be interested in working at HGS. Are there any incentives for me as a work at home employee to refer friends and family?
A: Absolutely! Our lucrative referral program is available to ALL employees from day one of training. You can submit your referrals through our internal website.
