Position Summary
The individual will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards in our facilities. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to maintaining a clean and organized environment
Roles and Responsibilies1. Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
2. Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets andtrash containers.3. Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings, events, etc.• Strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum andshampoo carpets.4. Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, high-speed buffers, vacuums,brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls,carpets, furniture, etc.5. Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments.6. Lock and unlock assigned spaces: secure buildings when facilities are not in use check forunlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, and turn off lights.7. Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies. Use as directed.8. Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing debris from sidewalks and stairs inareas within sixteen feet of buildings using hand-operated tools or small power equipment.
Requirements:
Qualifications, experience and abilities
- Proven experience as a janitor, custodian, or in a similar role preferred.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining high energy and productivity.
- Knowledge of standard methods, practices, tools, and equipment of the janitorial cleaning industry.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for extended periods, and perform physical tasks.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to work evenings and weekends.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and stand for extended periods.
- Requires ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Regular exposure to cleaning chemicals and possibly hazardous materials.
