Meet Trainer Davion

In this series, our trainers share insights into how employees grow with HGS.

HGS: Tell us about your education and experience.

Davion: I graduated with an Education diploma in Secondary English and Reading from the Bethlehem Moravian College, and I was a teacher for a short while in a part-time position. I spent some time at Xerox, where I was a customer service representative for about six months. Training is a passion for me because I enjoying teaching and moulding the life of others to success.

HGS: What are you known for among your trainees?

Davion: I am known among my trainees as a menace. I like to make training fun and exciting. For this, sometimes, I am willing to act insane to help my trainees come out of their shells and be ready to learn in my class. They know I will go the extra mile to see that they are comfortable. I believe my sarcasm is another thing they like about my sessions. I am very reliable, and I make sure to show support in every way possible.

HGS: What’s a pro-tip you would share with those attending your training sessions?

Davion: My tip for trainees is to be willing to accept change. In the environment of training, being receptive to changes will allow learners to grow beyond what they could imagine they would become.

HGS: What about HGS do you share with your trainees?

Davion: I ensure that the new hires are aware that we are a family, and as such, no one is left behind at any time. I also make sure my learners know that the people sitting with them in the room all have different personalities, and as such, they should learn to appreciate and work with those personalities. From what I’ve seen, this gives them the expertise to handle interactions with our client’s customers.
