Job Description

Maintain HGS buildings and property in a safe and professional manner.  To provide guidance and supervision to Facility Services personnel so they can perform with maximum efficiency.

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

1.       Supervises and coordinates the work of facility service employees. Communicates daily with Facility Services employees and extends positive attitude.

2.       Provides coaching and direction, evaluates performance and administers pay in accordance with company standards.

3.       Prioritize Service Requests from HGS personnel and coordinate daily work assignments for Facility Services personnel.

4.       Ensures staff uses appropriate safety precautions when working on projects around others.

5.       Identifies safety issues within HGS buildings; take appropriate action to correct problems and reports issues to Director, Facilities Management.

6.       Maintains an up to date list of emergency contacts with power, water and phone companies for management to use in the event of a disaster.

7.       Evaluates facility needs and determines when to contact outside vendors to assist.  Acts as liaison between HGS and vendors; oversees vendors work is done completely and according to specifications.

8.        Maintains all security systems in HGS buildings to ensure the safety and security of employees and equipment.

9.       Oversees ongoing maintenance contracts with outside vendors to ensure vendors are fulfilling contractual agreements.

10.   Assists Director, Facilities Management in maintaining costs (both capital and operational) of everyday maintenance of HGS properties. Provides solutions to problem before calling outside vendors. Keep costly inventory to a minimum.

11.   Keep preventive maintenance binders updated on all repairs to ensure all warranties are recognized. Create new binders with acquisition of new equipment. 

12.   Provides on call after hour’s support to the organization in the event of an emergency.

13.   Completes special projects assigned by Director, Facilities Management.

14.   Maintains “historical” records of contracts and agreement.

15.   Responsible for the Annual update of the Facility Handbook.

16.   Participates in the compilation of CapEx budgets.

17.   Maintains and updates building evacuation plans.

18.   Promotes a healthy and safe working environment

Minimum jOB Requirements: (Education, Experience, Skills)

·         High school education or equivalency

·         Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical and mechanical maintenance.

·         Valid driver’s license and good driving record.

·         Must be responsible, dependable and organized.

·         Able to lift and/or up to 50 pounds.

·         A minimum of 5 year work experience in an affiliated field.

·         Working knowledge of M/S Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is a must

·         Knowledge of Visio will be considered an asset.
